Jakarta to host warehouse meet

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: An international conference on `Warehouse receipt finance and collateral management' is scheduled for November 20-21 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Organised by the UK-based Day Robinson International, the conference will bring together international and local banks, collateral managers, commodity traders, law firms, credit support companies, warehouse companies, shipping lines and international and Government agencies to discuss the uses and innovation of warehouse receipt finance techniques in the Asian region.

Expert speakers from different disciplines will examine the risks, pitfalls, and rewards of using warehouse receipt finance and collateral management tools. The Indonesian Minister for Industry and Trade, Ms Rini Soewandi, will deliver the keynote speech, the organisers said.

In addition to providing a crucial means of improving the financial performance of commodity transactions, financing structures involving warehouse receipt finance offer new potential profit streams for the commercial sector. They provide new and much needed opportunities for beleaguered farm producers too.
