Airlines IA alters some timings of Dubai flights Vimala Vasan
ABU DHABI, Oct. 22 INDIAN Airlines is not effecting any changes in the capacities and frequencies in the winter schedule, beginning from October 27, as the company enters a phase of consolidation in the UAE. Mr K. Shyam Sundar, IA Manager, UAE, said on Tuesday that there were some changes to the flight timings on a couple of frequencies in the schedule. Overall, the airline will be offering a weekly capacity of about 6,800 seats per week spread over 43 services, reaching 15 direct destinations in India. The airline currently operates from four of the seven emirates in the UAE, namely Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, directly into India, he said. The IA official told Business Line said that the airline is planning to launch some promotional campaigns early next year, to coincide with the Dubai Shopping Festival, which has been shifted to an earlier date in February. The most notable change in the winter schedule is the advancement of daily flight IC-896 from Dubai to Delhi and Jaipur in the winter schedule. This flight will depart from Dubai International Airport at 1.10 p.m. and arrive into Delhi at 6 p.m. and thereafter into Jaipur at 7.30 pm. Flight IC-895 from Jaipur and Delhi will depart from Jaipur 8.30 a.m. and Delhi at 10 a.m. and arrive into Dubai at 12.10 p.m. daily. The departure time of flight IC-596 from Sharjah to Kochi, Kozhikode and Mumbai has been deferred to 2.45 a.m. This flight arrives into Kochi at 8.00 a.m. and into Kozhikode at 9.20 a.m. There is, however, no change in the timings of flight IC-595 from Kozhikode and Kochi into Sharjah. The departure time of flight IC-967 from Chennai, Tiruchi and Thiruvananthapuram to Sharjah has been advanced to depart from Chennai at 12 noon, so that the flight would arrive into Sharjah at 5.35 p.m. instead of at 8.40 p.m. as in the current schedule.
