Tea Marketing - New Products & Services Gour Nitye launches `green dream' tea Our Bureau
HYDERABAD: The Kolkata-based Gour Nitye Tea & Industries Ltd has launched its `green dream' brand green tea here on Monday. The 90-year old company has tea estates in Assam, Dooars and Terai in West Bengal. According to the company's Executive Director, Mr R.K. Maheswari, consumption of green tea in the country was steadily increasing, as it is good for health. In the past five years, the company's green tea sales have increased five-fold. He said that last fiscal the company had posted a turnover of Rs 20 crore. Out of this, Rs 12 crore had been realised through exports to the US, Poland, Germany, the UK, Russia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and South-East Asian countries where green tea is consumed as a health drink.
