HYDERABAD, Oct. 17

THE International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (Icrisat) has signed two agreements on long distance learning with the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and Dr B R Ambedkar Open University respectively.

The agreements commit the partners to a three-year period of collaboration in designing and implementing distance learning projects in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

The organisations will specifically promote distance learning in topics as coping with drought, watershed management, agro-industry and livelihood options for rural communities, according to an Icrisat press release.
