Winners of Space Week contest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has announced winners of various competitions held as part of World Space Week Celebrations 2002.

Arushi P. V. of the AKG Smaraka High School, Kannur, has won the first prize in the Malayalam essay competition for high school students. In the higher secondary section, Shruti Jayasimhan of the Government High School For Girls, Nedumangad, came up trumps.

In the English essay contest for high school students, Amritha Sivakumar of Bhavan's Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kochi, won the first prize. In the higher secondary section, Sita Murali of Arya Central School, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, was the winner.

Other winners are Sumesh M. of the Vocational Higher Secondary School, Nedumangadu (high school students) and Ganesh Krishnan of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pathanamthitta (higher secondary schools) in the poster competition.
