The Hindu Business Line : Tata Engg prunes Sept Indica sales figures

TATA Engineering, which disclosed on Tuesday a 33.3 per cent rise in sale of the Indica during September, today informed that its total sales rose by 23.7 per cent over the same period.

Cumulative vehicle sales for the company stood at 18,208 units in September 2002 as against the year ago level of 14,721 units.

This includes a 20.5 per cent rise in commercial vehicle sales to 8,942 units last month, an official statement said.

Total sales for the first half of 2002-03 were up by 25.4 per cent, from the year ago level of 73,556 units to 92,207 units.

Commercial vehicle sales for the same period touched 45,598 units, a rise of 32 per cent from the previous corresponding 34,537 units. M&HCV sales at 31,098 units and LCV sales at 14,500 units grew by 31 per cent and 34.3 per cent respectively, the statement said.
