Politics Touch screens to verify voter list Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A touch screen computer system installed at the District Collectorate will enable the public to verify voters' lists pertaining to the 14 Assembly constituencies and two Parliamentary constituencies as last updated on June 1, 2002. The facility can be availed of on all working days during office hours, a spokesman said. Only names of those who hold valid voter cards as on date have been listed in the system. The district boasts a voter strength of 23 lakh, distributed across 2,492 booths. The voter list has been arranged in the ascending order of the old house numbering system followed by the concerned local body. For inclusion/correction of entries, the request to the effect should be forwarded to the respective taluk office. Errors, if any, in the listings can be noted down in the separate register specifying the name of the constituency, the booth number and the serial number.
