Awards & Honours IIM Platinum Medal award Our Bureau
KOLKATA: The IIM Platinum Medal for outstanding lifetime contribution to the metallurgical profession has been awarded to Dr Amit Chaterjee, Chief Technical Officer of Tata Steel. According to a press release issued by Tata Steel, Mr H.M. Nerurkar, Executive-in-charge (Flat Products), has been awarded the SMS DEMAG Excellence Award for outstanding leadership contribution, innovative solutions in improvement and modification of equipment design and promotion of process technology in the iron and steel and non-ferrous industry in India. Mr H.S. Sandhu, Executive-in-charge (Growth Shop), Tata Steel, has bagged the Steel Eighties Award for meritorious contribution towards advancement of technology. The awards would be presented to the executives at the inaugural function of the 56th annual technical meeting of the Indian Institute of Metals slated to be held in Vadodara on November 14, the release added.
