Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The turnout at the weekly auction of the Indian Coffee Traders' Association held on Thursday was meagre as uncertainty over the bandh call kept traders away.

Prices dropped Rs 1-3 for arabica on quality considerations. This was a change from last week when prices had gone up in tandem with international prices firming up somewhat. The offtake too was average, with domestic buyers covering on a need basis. Exporters too were seen covering immediate shipment orders.

Prices were as follows: Arabica parchment PB sold for an average of Rs 56.40 per kg (Rs 57.24 last week); parchment A Rs 55.48 (Rs 57.70); parchment B Rs 39.22 (Rs 39.36); parchment C Rs 36.42 (Rs 39.36); parchment BBB Rs 27.20 (Rs 250.

Arabica cherry PB Rs 27.94 (Rs 29.62); cherry AB Rs 37 (Rs 36.32); cherry C Rs 18 (not traded); cherry Rs 16 (Rs 17).

Robusta parchment not traded. Robusta cherry AB Rs 27 (Rs 28.86); cherry C Rs 23.40 (Rs 24); cherry BBB Rs 19.94 (not traded).
