Textile testing centre at PSG Tech

The PSG College of Technology here and Premier Polytronics Ltd, a textile testing equipment manufacturing company, have come together to set up a new state-of-the-art textile testing centre.
Set up at a cost of Rs 1 crore, the PSG Premier Textile Test Centre is fitted with critical testing instruments, manufactured by the Premier Polytronics Ltd, which will enable testing of textile materials from fibre to yarn. Among the testing instruments installed at the centre is high volume fibre tester (Premier HFT 9000), yarn evenness tester, tensile strength tester, yarn fault classification system and yarn count analysis system.
This test centre would operate from the college's Department of Textile Technology.
The college had plans to secure the approval from the National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) for the centre, said Prof K. Ramachandralu, Department of Textile Technology, PSG College of Technology.
