BANGALORE: The electronics division of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has launched Web pages for development and expansion of vendor base for components required for energy meters.

The division has been the major supplier of energy meters of all the varieties including electro mechanical as well as electronic (static). The division has the distinction of being the first manufacturer of energy meters in India, according to a company press release.

BHEL supplies about 7 lakh energy meters per annum.
