Survey on quality of electricity

BANGALORE: The Consumer Advocacy Office of the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) will be conducting a consumer survey on quality of electricity service.

It has sought information and data from all classes of consumers about the quality of electricity supply, service standards, meter grievances, billing procedures, power interruptions, implementation of standards of performance by electricity supply companies and other related matters. Based on the inputs received, the Consumer Advocacy cell would prepare a report and submit it to the KERC for giving necessary directions to the electricity supply companies, which in turn would formulate procedures and policies compatible with the requirements of consumers. The survey is to be conducted through a questionnaire, both in English and Kannada. The questionnaire can be downloaded from KERC Website: www.kerc.org. Various consumer organisations, farmers' associations, electricity users' groups, IP set users organisations and other social action groups are being asked to conduct the survey.
