NEW DELHI, Sept. 19

THE Ministry of Human Resource Development is planning to review the syllabus for the joint entrance examination for the IIT entrance examination to be held in April next year.

A Ministry official told Business Line that the new curriculum would be announced in October-November when the prospectus would be issued.

The official said that the general impression about the current curriculum was that it was of very high standard, and hence, there was a possibility that the curriculum would be made easier.

On the other hand, the Ministry was also planning to announce the marks of the joint entrance test from next year onwards.

"The students who do not qualify in the examination will be able to know about their performance and areas in which they need to improve," remarked the official.
