COIMBATORE, Sept. 18

THE fresh milk market in Coimbatore city, which already has seasoned brands such as Aavin, Sakthi, the Nilgiris and Arogya, is getting stirred up further with the entry of Britannia.

The biscuits and dairy products major launched fresh milk under its `Britannia Milkman' brand name in the city on Wednesday.

Coimbatore is the first city in the South where Britannia has launched its `Britannia Milkman'. It had earlier entered the Delhi, Kolkata and Chandigarh markets and in select towns in Haryana. It is also the first major national player in the dairy products business to enter the fresh milk market in this region.

The company has entered into a tie-up with a local private dairy that has been selling milk under the brand name of `Aroma'. The company has introduced two variants of milk - - standardised milk priced at Rs 15 per litre and toned milk costing Rs 13 a litre.
