NEW DELHI, Sept. 17
THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has recommended the continuation of anti-dumping duty on imports of `thermal-sensitive paper' (TSP) from the European Union (EU).
The domestic industry represented by Shree Krishna Paper Mills & Industries, New Delhi had filed the petition seeking review of the anti-dumping duty alleging that the dumping of TSP from EU and the injury caused there from had intensified.
In its final findings on the review investigations of anti-dumping duty on TSP imports, the authority has recommended an anti-dumping duty equivalent to the difference between $ 2,947.92 per tonne of TSP and the "landed value" of imports per tonne in the case of exports by Papierfabrik August Koehler AG of Germany and Jujo Thermal Ltd, Finland.
The rates would be same for all other exporters of TSP from the EU.In fiscal 2000-01, total imports of TSP stood at about 423 tonnes. The EU alone accounted for about 350-375 tonnes, sources said.
