Hindalco output seen hit by rains

MUMBAI, Sept. 13

HINDALCO Industries Ltd informed BSE that it might suffer production loss of aluminium by around 1,000 tonnes due to heavy rains in the area where the company's captive power plant in located in Uttar Pradesh.

The company said that power generation had been partly affected since September 12. "Consequently, aluminium production has also been affected as we have been forced to close down about 200 pots out of 1,593 operating pots.
