CAs and frauds

This is with reference to the news item "CAs conniving with chit funds'' (Business Line, August 31). The Home Secretary of Tamil Nadu, Mr Syed Munir Hoda's derogatory remarks against CAs for their alleged `connivance' in the frauds committed by non-banking finance companies and chit funds in the State are undesirable and do not befit a high-placed government official. Instead of passing such general remarks, the people concerned should be advised to approach the proper forum and, if there are any findings against the particular CAs, then open charges can be levelled against them.

In fact, in any profession one cannot blame the entire tribe for the suspected involvement of few individuals.
