Dumping duty on trimethoprim from China

K.R. Srivats

NEW DELHI, Sept. 11

THE Finance Ministry has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on all imports of trimethoprim from China. Trimethoprim is a bulk anti-bacterial pharmaceutical ingredient directly used in formulations.

Alpha Drugs India, Patiala, and Inventaa Chemicals, Hyderabad, had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on imports of trimethoprim from China. Sources said a definitive anti-dumping duty equivalent to the difference between $19.71 per kg and the `landed value' of imports per kg had been imposed by the Revenue Department on all trimethoprim imports from China.
