Dumping probe on flashlights

K.R. Srivats

NEW DELHI, Sept. 11

THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has initiated anti-dumping investigations on the alleged dumping of non-brass metal flashlights from China.

Such flashlights are commonly known as `torches' in Indian market parlance. Industry sources said that Eveready Industries India Ltd, Kolkata, had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on non-brass metal flashlights from China.

The authority is already investigating alleged dumping of compact fluorescent lamps by Chinese exporters.
