Performance ACC despatches up 24 pc in Aug Our Bureau
MUMBAI, Sept. 2 ACC Ltd has reported a 24.3 per cent increase in cement despatches, at 10.98 lakh tonnes for the month of August 2002 compared to that in August 2001 at 8.83 lakh tonnes. Production rose 24.4 per cent, to 11.04 lakh tonnes from 8.87 lakh tonnes. Cumulative despatches for the April -August period this year rose 20.5 per cent, to 58.13 lakh tonnes from 48.42 lakh tonnes. Cumulative production for the same period rose 19.8 per cent, to 58.13 lakh tonnes from 48.52 lakh tonnes. Gujarat Ambuja Cements has reported a 44.6 per cent increase in despatches, at 6.77 tonnes for the month of August 2002. Despatches during August 2001 amounted to 4.68 lakh tonnes. Production rose 49 per cent, to 6.78 lakh tonnes from 4.55 lakh tonnes.
