AIMIL Pharma bets on South foray for growth

NEW DELHI, Aug. 30

AYURVEDIC medicine and herbal preparations company, AIMIL Pharmaceuticals (I) Ltd, is optimistic that its foray into the southern market would help it clock a sales of an estimated Rs 50 crore this fiscal.

Besides targeting a 40 per cent growth this year, the company has drawn up plans for itself and hopes to touch Rs 100 crore over the next two years, according to company officials. Also on the anvil is the launch of an anti-ageing product, slated for February 2003.

AIMIL is setting up a new plant near Sonepat in Haryana for manufacturing capsules, syrups and granules. At a project cost of Rs 7 crore, the new plant is stated to have a capacity of 10 lakh capsules, 4 lakh syrup bottles and 100 kg of granules and is likely to be commissioned by March next.

Other products developed by the company through its in-house research and development are, Amylcure for liver disorders, Neeri for kidney stones and Amree plus for diabetes.
