Leyland gets export orders for Rs 34 cr

CHENNAI, Aug. 29

ASHOK Leyland Ltd has obtained two orders for export of vehicles, from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The orders are worth Rs 34 crore.

The Sri Lankan contract is from the People Leasing Company, for 250 fully built, 42-seater Viking buses. "This comes close on the heels of execution of a similar order from PLC, who has in the last four years, bought 1,300 buses from Ashok Leyland," says a press release from the company.

The other order is from Pragoti Industries of Bangladesh, for the supply of 300 Stag mini buses, in CKD form.
