New Projects Toyota Kirloskar to invest $80 m in gearbox unit Our Bureau
BANGALORE, Aug. 26 TOYOTA Kirloskar's new gearbox plant will produce 1,68,000 gearboxes per year for exports. The total investment will comprise $80 million in two plants out of which $50 million will be invested in machine tools and out of this, 40-45 per cent will be invested in the domestic market. Mr Vikram Kirloskar, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts and Vice-Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Company, said this during his visit and interaction at the National Manufacturing Technology Show 2002, being held in Bangalore, according to a NMTS 2002 press release. Mr Kirloskar said that export from the plants would commence in the first quarter of 2004. He added that Toyota Kirloskar was scouring the Indian market as a buyer of products. Around 3,500 core business visitors came to NMTS 2002 in the first two days, the release added.
