MUMBAI, Aug. 24

A 15-MEMBER team from the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA) will be visiting Nigeria for seven days starting August 25.

According to a press release, the IEEMA team expects to meet important buyers during the visit, which will be used to deepen bilateral trade relations between the two countries. The delegation will be lead by Mr Sanjeev Sardana, Chairman, IEEMA Export Cell.

The IEEMA, the apex organisation of the Indian electrical and professional electronics industry, sees Nigeria as an important export destination, given that its power sector is in the midst of an expansion.

India's exports of electrical and electronic equipment to Nigeria stood at $200 million in 2001.

The delegation, on return, will also visit Kenya for two days. Kenya has been a key country for exports, the release said.
