MP group enters bus body building

PUNE, Aug. 23

THE MP group has entered the bus body building business with its new venture - Reliance Auto Body Builders and Workshop - here. For the group, which is in property support service business in Pune, Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore, this is part of its backward integration, said Mr Madhukar Pathak, Chairman of the group here on Friday.

The 5,000 sq.ft workshop was ready to provide all services under one roof, said Mr Ashok Rai, Managing Partner of the new company. The investment for the new facility would be to the tune of Rs 15 lakh, he said.

Building work of all standards, luxury, semi-luxury buses and containers will be undertaken by Reliance. Bodybuilding of LCV (light commercial vehicle) would take 30 days to complete and the workshop had capacity to build bodies for five vehicles and the company plans to expand the capacity to eight vehicles per month, he said. He added that the company was expecting to build a minimum of 12 vehicles during the current financial year.
