Strategy Cheryl's cosmeceuticals launched in AP Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, Aug. 23 CHERYL'S Cosmeceuticals, the Mumbai-based producer of pharma grade cosmetics specifically suited to the Indian skin and hair care treatment, proposes to open technical training and dermatological centres in all the major cities for beauticians, beauty therapists and beauty professionals. The company, which has such centres in Mumbai, would be setting up similar ones in Hyderabad by the end of next month. Meanwhile, the company is organising a week-long seminar-cum-training programme during the first week of September for beauticians. Launching the range of Cheryl's products in the Andhra Pradesh market here on Friday, its Director and cosmetologist, Mr Oscar Pereira, said the products were not just cosmetics but cosmeceuticals - a unique blend of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Stating that these products, aimed at 20 highly-effective skin and hair treatments, were the result of extensive research and development efforts of the company, he said the company proposed to train beauticians on the treatment procedures and case-specific dosages. These products, which Mr Pereira said were approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), are aimed at treating a variety of skin conditions and disorders ranging from pigmentation, acne, specialised treatments for mature wrinkled skin to hair care treatment for hair fall, dandruff and hair thinning. He said Cheryl's professional range of products would be distributed only through trained beauty therapists and dermatologists, and would not be made available through the over-the-counter (OTC) route. According to Mr Pereira, the natural and botanical ingredients combined with unique formulations set Cheryl's cosmeceuticals apart from most skin and hair care products currently available in the Indian market.
