KASSIA plea to Govt

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) has extended its support to the cause of the iron and steel dealers, who have been demanding the removal of 1.5 per cent tax on second sales from every point of purchase leading to cascading effect on the cost.

KASSIA, in a statement, said the tax would have an impact of 4.5 per cent at the end point pushing up the cost of iron and steel, which is used as raw material in many industries. The SSI sector, already struggling for existence, will be affected badly by this levy. KASSIA has urged the Government to take sympathetic view of the plight of the industry on this issue.
