Opinion on Bt cotton awaited

BANGALORE: The State Government has decided not to allow Bt cotton to be grown as a commercial crop, till experts come up on the adverse effects of the crop, the Agriculture Minister, Mr K.S. Koujalgi, has said.

"If experts come out with a report stating that there are no adverse effect in Bt cultivation, the Government will introduce it in the market", he said after holding a meeting with agriculture university Vice-Chancellors and scientists on Tuesday.
