Karnataka Govt urges Centre to expedite Rozgar funds

BANGALORE: The State Government has urged the Centre to expedite the release of funds and foodgrains for speedy implementation of the Sampoorna Grama Rozgar Yojana.

This will enable the State to tackle the situation arising out of the drought situation. The delay in releasing funds and foodgrains has come in the way of drought relief works, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mr M.Y. Ghorpade, said adding that the State had received Rs 300 crore in the previous year and expected it to double this year.
