NEW DELHI, Aug. 5

WITH the objective of tapping the premium and super-premium skin-care segment, Lakme-Lever intends to launch at least four new products within this year.

The new launches will include cleansing and application products, Mr Vivek Rampal, General Manager, skin care, HLL, said.

"HLL has a presence in mass and upper mass skin-care products. We have now decided to tap the affordable premium skin segment, because this segment is growing,'' Mr Rampal said.

The company today announced the launch of two premium skin-care products. While Lakme anti-wrinkle cream Forever Young has been priced at Rs 110 for 30 ml, Lakme Strawberry Silk Creme is priced at Rs 65 for 50 ml.

While the Lakme brand reaches 90,000 retail outlets, the premium skin products will be placed in specific SEC-A and B towns and cities, according to Mr Rampal.

In the overall Rs 1,200 crore skin-care market, Lakme's market share averages 7 per cent, and is growing at about 10 per cent, Mr Rampal said.
