Cotton Global cotton meet in Cairo Our Bureau
MUMBAI: The Washington-based International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) will hold its 61st plenary meeting in Cairo (Egypt) during October 20-25. The theme of the meeting will be `The 21st century cotton industry: Growth through private investment'. Major topics will include: Government measures and progress on talks on agriculture under WTO; encouraging investment in the cotton industry; providing incentives for improved cotton quality through measurement of intrinsic values; measurement and definition of contamination; and price risk management. There will be a technical seminar on `Technology, management and processing for quality fibre'. ICAC said about 400 delegates are expected to participate, with approximately 350 for outside the host country and about two-thirds from the private sector.
