Chambers protest Bangla bandh

KOLKATA: The leading city-based chambers of commerce have jointly protested against the proposed Bangla bandh on Monday called by Trinamool Congress against the bifurcation of Eastern Railway.

In a statement, the chambers said that the bandh would not only lead to significant economic loss but also cause irreparable damage to the common perception of West Bengal outside the State. The statement wass issued jointly by the presidents of Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Calcutta Chamber of Commerce and Merchants' Chamber of Commerce.
