GSK Consumer to pay 33% interim

NEW DELHI: The board of directors of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) has announced the first interim dividend of 33 per cent, or Rs 3.30 per share, for the year 2002.

According to the company's press release here, despite tough business conditions, the company had maintained its tradition of rewarding its shareholders through consistent dividend allocation.

For the half year ended June 30, 2002, GSKCH registered a 15.4 per cent decline in sales at Rs 398.59 crore as compared to that achieved in the same period the previous year. The profit before tax (PBT) during the six-month period was Rs 76.01 crore, reflecting a decline of 19.6 per cent over the same six months of last year.
