Hexaware Q2 profit at Rs 55.98 lakh

CHENNAI, July 25

HEXAWARE Technologies has turned around from a loss of Rs 2.83 crore during the first quarter ending March 31, 2002, to report a profit of Rs 55.98 lakh during the second quarter.

It was, however, less than the net profit of Rs 2.19 crore the company reported during the corresponding quarter of last year.

Total income during the second quarter came down to Rs 21.70 crore as against Rs 79.80 crore during the previous year period, total expenditure reduced to Rs 18.37 crore (Rs 72.20 crore), depreciation was Rs 2.76 crore (Rs 5.40 crore), says a company release.

For the year ended December 31, 2001, the company reported a net profit of Rs 1.60 crore, on a total income of Rs 117.23 crore.

The average onsite billing rates for Hexaware during the second quarter of 2002 increased to $71 per person per hour, compared to $70 in the first quarter. The offshore billing rates remained unchanged at $22.
