Nabard to sanction Rs 35 cr for road development

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, July 21

THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) will extend assistance to the tune of Rs 35 crore from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for the development of two roads in Kerala.

Of the total assistance, Rs 25 crore will be utilised for the development of the Nenmara-Nelliampathy road and the remaining Rs 10 crore for the Chalakkudy-Vazhachal road.

Rs 46.50 cr for Kochi Marine Drive: The State Government has sanctioned a project for the beautification of the footpath at Kochi Marine Drive at a cost of Rs 46.50 crore.

The footpath will be further extended and beautified with avenue trees and ornamental lamps.

The work is expected to be completed in 12 months.
