Union Bank Q1 net up 81 pc at Rs 114 crore

MUMBAI, July 18

UNION Bank of India has registered a 80.72 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 113.91 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2002 from Rs 63.03 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

According to a bank release, the increase in net profit is on account of an increase in interest income as well as non-interest income.

Gross NPA percentage has come down to 10.59 per cent (11.05 per cent) while net NPA percentage is down to 5.92 per cent (6.51 per cent).
