Sick Units HC takes up Jessop case hearing Our Legal Correspondent
KOLKATA, July 12 MR Justice K.J. Sengupta of the Calcutta High Court on Friday took up the matter of Jessop & Co. Ltd (JCL) for hearing. Earlier, on March 7, the court directed the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) not to implement the order of disinvestment without the leave of the court. Counsel for Central Government argued that while Railways is a strategic sector organisation as the management and running is ensured by the Central Government, but the unit, which produces equipment for the Railways, cannot be said to be a unit of strategic sector.
