Free export of mulberry silk waste

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: The Union Government has ruled that mulberry silk waste (not carded or combed) is free for exports without any restrictions as far as ITC (HS) classification of export and import is concerned.

Hitherto, export of `mulberry silk waste (not carded or combed)' was allowed only against a valid registration certificate issued in this regard by the Member Secretary of the Central Silk Board.

``The DGFT has now removed an export restriction by dispensing with the need for registration certificate from the Central Silk Board,'' official sources said. A notification to this effect has also been issued.
