Kinetic Intl to be formed in two months

M. Ramesh

CHENNAI, July 11

KINETIC International, to be set up shortly for taking over the overseas operations of the Kinetic group, could be operational in a couple of months. There is much scope for the company: The turnover could rise to as much as Rs 100 crore in two years, Ms Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Joint Managing Director, Kinetic Engineering Ltd, told Business Line today.

She said there was substantial export business emerging. Kinetic Engineering would soon begin to export the GF-125 motorcycles to Hyosung Motors of Korea. These bikes are produced here with technical help from Hyosung. Ms Motwani said Kinetic Engineering could be exporting around 15,000 GF-125s a year, to wherever Hyosung wanted them to be sold.

The decision to set up Kinetic International was approved by Kinetic Engineering's board a couple of months ago. Since then, the group has been busy with putting together a team for looking at exports and chalking out a business plan, which again would need to be approved by the board, Ms Motwani said.

There was also the possibility of exporting the GF-150, which was being developed here jointly by Kinetic and Hyosung. Asked about a possible foray into China, Ms Motwani said Kinetic was examining the possibilities of importing from the country.
