Central Govt staff stage dharna

HYDERABAD: The employees of the central government departments in the city staged a dharna on Wednesday in response to a call given by the Confederation of Central Government employees and workers, New Delhi.

The dharna was in protest against the anti-employee policies of the Centre in implementing the recommendations of the Geetha Krishnan committee for Central Government employees, Rakesh Mohan committee for Railways and Nair and Jafa committee report on defence employees.

In a statement the State unit said all these committees have recommended downsizing of the departments, handing over government work to private sector, closing down of deparments etc.
