Global Business Plan contest

KOLKATA: The Entrepreneurship Cell of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC), organised the second Global Business Plan Competition. It was named i2I (ideas to Implementation).
The first award went to a team of IIMC alumni. They presented an infotech business plan called `The Drug Company'. The company aims to provide quality bioinfomatic algorithms to small pharmaceutical companies to help in their quest of new drug development. The team won Rs 5 lakh as cash award.
The second prize of Rs 3 lakh went to a team comprising alumni of the Indian School of Business. Their plan was on identifying and developing the potential of children's education. The third prize was won by a team from Mumbai University and their plan was e-commerce.
The lead sponsors for the competition were Astral System Inc and Srei International Finance Ltd. The Entrepreneurship Cell is an initiative of students and it aims to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among professionals.
