In his keynote address at the workshop on `Strengthening food safety and quality systems in India' organised by the CII at the National Institution of Nutrition here, he stressed the need for the development in the country of food safety and quality standards of international level. Dr Gupta said developing countries should voice their concern at the Codex Alimentarius Commission, so that their interests were reflected in framing standards.
