Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The dairy sector in Kerala has won representation at the national level with the nomination of Mr P.T. Gopala Kurup, Chairman, Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma), to the board of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

A declaration to this effect has been made by the Central Government by way of an extraordinary Gazette notification, according to Mr T.S. Krishnaswamy, Managing Director, Milma.

Mr Kurup is a veteran of the co-operative dairy sector where his has been a regular presence for 25 years now. He has been closely associated with the dairy development programme in the Malabar area. His nomination to the NDDB board will be a timely boost for the co-operative movement as it seeks to become more relevant in the country's dairy sector, Mr Krishnaswamy said.
