Pharmaceuticals NPPA increases prices of 12 formulation packs Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, June 21 THE National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) today fixed the prices of two formulation packs for the first time while revising upwards the prices of 12 formulation packs by about 4.92 per cent to 23.40 per cent. In all the 14 cases, non-ceiling prices have been fixed or revised in accordance with the provisions of the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO) 1995 in keeping with the established criteria and guidelines, according to an official press release here. Of the formulations for which prices have been revised upwards by about 20.18-23.40 per cent include nine formulations in the form of tablets and injectibles of various potencies containing methyl prednisolone. These cortico-steroid medicines are being marketed by Pharmacia (India) Pvt. Ltd. The other five formulations are insulin-based injections used for the treatment of diabetes of which the prices of two have been fixed for the first time while the rest have been increased by 4.92 per cent. These formulations are being marketed by Novo Nordisk Pharma (I) Ltd and M.J.Pharma Pvt. Ltd.
