TNAU to skip Agri Intex 2002

L.N. Revathy

COIMBATORE, June 21

THE annual agricultural fair — Agri Intex 2002 — is going to be an event sans the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University this year.

The third series of this mega event slated between August 1 and 6 at the Cointec Trade Fair Complex is organised by Codissia with the support of the Centre and State Governments, research institutions, development agencies, commodity boards and corporates in the agricultural sector.

Codissia (the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association) had been promoting this event jointly with TNAU in the last two occasions. The current year's event, however, will be a show minus TNAU. Citing ``paucity of funds'', the university has decided to withdraw from participating in the event this year.
