Karnataka Govt may review liquor policy

BANGALORE: The State may review its liquor policy following poor response to the annual arrack auctions.

Under review could be the auction of vending rights of arrack, according to sources. The prospect of not reaching the revenue target at the auctions could lead to a ban on sale of arrack in line with the move by the neighbouring States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, the sources added.
