BLUE Star Infotech Ltd is entering the banking, finance, securities and insurance (BFSI) sector.

``The BFSI sector has emerged as the single largest implementer of information technologies,'' said a news release quoting Mr. Pramod Bhalla, Managing Director, Blue Star Infotech.

``We recognise this as a burgeoning business opportunity and have decided to spin off a new division dedicated to the needs of the banking, finance and insurance sector,'' he added.

The company will cater to the prime financial markets of the world through its offices located at New Jersey, San Jose, London, Frankfurt, Singapore and Mumbai, said a news release announcing the launch of the new practice.

It will provide domain specific software services through its onsite consulting team and its offshore centres. The software development will be done at the two BFSI competence centres located at Kuala Lampur and Mumbai.
