Marthandavarma bridge

The Marthandavarma bridge across the Periyar river on NH-47 near Aluva has been newly constructed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. With a width of 7.5 metres, it does not seem to reduce the congestion at this part of the highway. The bridge was completed on time by L&T and is expected to be opened to traffic on June 23.
