AP thermal power stations bag awards

HYDERABAD: Three thermal power stations of the Andhra Pradesh Generation Corporation have received the meritorious productivity award for 1999-2000 from the Union Government.

The cash awards amounting to Rs 92.83 lakh, along with gold medals, were presented to the Vijayawada Thermal Power Station, Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project and the Kothagudem Thermal Power Station Stage V. The awards were instituted to inculcate competitive spirit and to motivate power utilities to achieve high level of performance, according to a press release here.
