Kerala Govt plan to prevent electrical mishaps

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has formulated a time-bound action plan for preventing the recurrence of accidents involving live or exposed power lines, according to the Industries Minister, Mr Kadavoor Sivadasan.

At a State-level meeting of District Electrical Inspectors and Deputy Inspectors, he said that last year alone, 270 deaths were reported in 435 different electrical mishaps in the State.

He directed the Inspectors to formulate within three months a detailed action plan for preventing such mishaps.
